We all want our homes to feel Beautiful and Cozy. Here is my perspective on a Beautiful home along with some tips on how to create one.
What Makes my House a Beautiful Place?
Is it art on the wall? Expensive furniture? My parents used to say that beauty is cleanliness. I’ve found that there are a few things that can make a big impact on a space, and they don’t require much effort.
Does Making the Bed Count as Beauty?
I always make my bed. When I was a child, my father would say that if I made my bed, it would impact the whole room, and it only takes 1-2 minutes. The room looks beautiful and tidy, as if I were really a clean person.
Do the Dishes!
Another thing that makes a big difference in how a house feels is clean dishes and a tidy kitchen. When the dishes are clean, everything else feels easier and more manageable. I don’t mean to frantically wash every dish striving for perfection, but doing the dishes once a day and starting the dishwasher before bedtime is crucial if we want to enjoy our beautiful home.
How long does it take? 15-20 minutes a day? I think it’s a small price to pay for beauty.
Deal with Empty Boxes!
And one more thing that can steal beauty is packaging and empty boxes. Sometimes we become blind to them and just don’t notice because we think they are temporary. But they are a real eyesore, and if anyone were to visit our home, the empty boxes would be the first—and maybe the only—thing they’d see. It’s hard to appreciate the beauty behind mountains of ugly boxes. It doesn’t take long to get them out of your house. So why do we always leave them and avoid dealing with them?
