Letting go of unfinished projects can be freeing. A minimalist journey about releasing creative clutter and making space for what matters.

Prioritizing And Decluttering
During the last two years, I have been on my minimalist journey. I have done a lot of decluttering in my home and in my life. I got rid of a lot of things that I didn’t need or use so that I could prioritize the things that are important to me.
Informational Consumerism
We live in an excess of information and ideas. We consume too much content, but then we don’t do much with it. We often know things in theory, but we never apply them in practice. We get so many ideas about what we could do that, oftentimes, we end up living a fantasy life. In that fantasy life, we are skilled, creative, and productive.
Unfinished Projects That You Pour Yourself Into
Have you ever had a project that you never finished? It could be an art or craft piece. I certainly have. While decluttering, I realized that unfinished projects are one of the hardest things to say goodbye to. They contain so much of you—hours of your time, effort, and a piece of your heart.
I spent a few months working on my crochet project, so it was really hard to let go. The project started with a random idea, but I eventually came to the realization that I didn’t have a place for it in my home.
At first, I was very motivated and kept going. A few months later, however, I could see that it wasn’t turning out the way I had imagined. I kept it for two more years, hoping I could figure out where and how to use it in my home. I searched for ideas on how to finish it and worked on it a little more. But it became difficult, and I no longer felt the same joy I had at the beginning. I was trying to push myself to finish it, but that wasn’t the right mindset.
Letting Go Of The Past
So I made the decision to declutter it. I let go of the main piece and recycled the smaller parts.
I believe that when I let go of one thing, something more meaningful and significant will always find its way to me, because now I am open and ready for something new and fresh!
